CGS lists R&S Group on the Swiss stock exchange
CGS Management AG ("CGS"), on behalf of its investors, has brought R&S International Holding AG ("R&S") to the SIX Swiss Exchange through a majority sale to VT5 Acquisition Company AG ("VT5"), which has been listed since December 15, 2021. VT5 was founded as an acquisition vehicle (special purpose acquisition company, SPAC) with the aim of acquiring an operating company and listing it on the Swiss stock exchange. After the name change from VT5 to R&S Group Holding AG (“R&S Group”) and the successful completion of the transaction with closing on December 12, 2023, the R&S Group was listed today on the SIX Swiss Exchange under the stock symbol “RSGN”.

Advaton Ltd and SAS Eurotandem: combining Swiss and French cheese-making expertise to serve customers even better in future
Advaton Ltd (Advaton Group) in Lütisburg, Switzerland is taking the next step in its Buy & Build strategy by entering into an agreement with SAS Eurotandem (Eurotandem) based in Saint-Just France. Advaton Group, comprising one of the leading international cheese, dairy and process technology specialists Kalt Maschinenbau AG (“Kalt”) and industrial automation solutions provider Staedler Automation AG (“Staedler”) has thus gained an important partner of equal standing in the French-speaking region. In future, Advaton will be able to offer solutions to the full range of customers, from small local cheese farms to international industrial facilities. This milestone will further strengthen the group’s position in Europe and sustainably boost its growth. The current Eurotandem executive team of Albert, Olivier and Yann Berthier will be shareholders of Advaton Group and strengthen the management team and knowhow within Advaton Group.

The owners of EOL Packaging Experts GmbH (“EOL”) and NEO Conveying Intelligence Lda. (“NEO”) have agreed to join forces in the future. The EOL Group, comprising A+F Automation + Fördertechnik GmbH, Kirchlengern (A+F), Standard-Knapp, Inc. (S-K), Portland Connecticut and BMS Maschinenfabrik GmbH (BMS), Pfatter, has now gained an important partner on the Iberian Peninsula. This move will further strengthen the Group’s market position in Europe and Africa and drive growth in a sustainable manner.

CGS sells SF Tooling Group to Storskogen
Since the company succession through CGS in 2014, SF Tooling Group has grown from a mainly European-oriented company with turnover of about EUR 20 million into an international Group with a presence in the key automotive markets of the US, Europe and China. Revenues more than doubled since then. Now CGS is selling its majority shareholding to the Swedish Group Storskogen. The strong market position will be further enhanced under Storskogen.

CGS completes the first exit from the current CGS IV Fund and sells Stürtz Group to German investor capiton. Stürtz has been very successful since CGS came on board in 2017 and has significantly expanded its international presence. The strong growth path is set to continue with capiton as new majority owner.

Three parallel shocks
Whilst the so-called Great Recession (or Financial Crisis) of 2008 was primarily a shock on the demand side, the current crisis attacks businesses from three sides – demand, supply, and internal operations: demand because customers are now immediately stopping their orders and capex projects, supply because critical materials may no longer be available at the plants at the time when they are needed, and internal operations because workers and employees may not be able to work due to illness, quarantine, or administrative order.
