Dollins Tool is joining the Mold & Robotics Group

Independence, USA / Conthey, Switzerland, February 6, 2018. Dollins Tool, based in Independence, MO, USA, announced today that its shareholders have reached an agreement to sell the company to Mold & Robotics Group. Dollins Tool thus joins the Swiss automation and tool manufacturer Müller and the North American CBW Automation, an automation company based in Fort Collins, CO, USA. The merger strengthens the first globally active industry leader in tooling and automation with plants in America and in Europe.

As the market for food and non-food related thin-wall packaging continues to expand, demand for superior product design, tooling and automation has also risen. In addition, supply chains have become significantly more global, a process that at the same time has been accompanied by consolidation of this market’s various suppliers. This offers an explanation to the question why many consumer goods and packaging producers are now internationally active. Robotics and injection mold manufacturers can take advantage of opportunities generated by this new environment to pursue strategies, which involve spreading their operations across multiple continents. Cooperating closely with customers on-site significantly speeds up processes and facilitates an ongoing exchange for a superior and specified product design which helps meet expectations for product development even better. Moreover, flexible service rendered by specialists on-site ensures productivity.

“As a North American leader in supplying thin wall packaging molds and mold solutions, we are extremely proud of our team’s accomplishments over the past decades. By joining Mold & Robotics Group, we will be part of an international company with technological leadership in both molds and automation. I truly see Mold & Robotics Group as not only the right organization to solidify the future of Dollins Tool, but also to ensure a strong service for our loyal customer base in the long term.” said, Mike Klestinec, President of Dollins Tool.

Udo Gröber, CEO of Müller and Mold & Robotics Group, said: “We are excited about Dollins Tool joining the Mold & Robotics Group. It is an ideal complement to Müller and CBW and will help us going forward to be closer to our customers to better serve them. Benefits for our customers will include improved responsiveness granted by our extensive presence in America and Europe as well as an extended product and service offering. As we carefully bring the companies together we will always fully focus on on-time deliveries and maintaining the high quality level that our customers expect.”

Since its inception in 1952, Dollins Tool has been servicing the plastics industry as a leading full-service supplier of high-speed, multi-cavity packaging injection molds. Offering a full line of products incorporating advanced technology and precise engineering, as well as a wide-range of support services, Dollins Tool provides plastics manufacturing professionals with a single source for highest productivity and efficiency. Their injection molds have created some of the most popular containers found on store shelves throughout America.

Müller was founded in 1959 and is a pioneer and leading company in the field of packaging design, mold and automation solutions for injection molded thin wall packaging with special know-how in in-mold-labeling. It is the platform company of the recently founded Mold & Robotics Group. Add-on acquisitions will build the company into a leading and technologically pioneering industrial group in tooling and automation operating worldwide.
